Russia’s stainless steel imports down 7.7% in January

Russian imports of stainless steel products in January this year decreased by 7.7 percent year on year to 15,004 mt, according to Russia-based SpetsStal Association.

In particular, in the first month of this year Russia's imports of long steel went down by 1.2 percent, its flat steel imports declined by 5.7 percent, imports of ERW pipes decreased by 13.5 percent, imports of seamless pipes moved down by 53.8 percent and billet imports decreased by 14.1 percent, all year on year. At the same time, wire imports increased by 58.3 percent compared to January last year.
