Russia’s oil fields to consume around 22.3 million mt of steel pipes by 2020

According to the opinion expressed by Russia's largest steel pipe producer TMK Group, Russian oil fields will consume around 22.3 million mt of steel pipes by 2020. In particular, 6.9 million mt of steel pipes will be required for the construction of oil fields and 15.4 million mt of steel pipes will be used for transmission. The implementation of development schemes for oil fields in Russia will require an investment of Ruble 8.6 trillion.

Currently, the total production capacity of Russian pipe companies is 13.5 million mt of pipes per year, including 5 million mt of large diameter (LD) pipes and 5.85 million mt of oil and gas pipes.
