Russia’s iron ore exports down

Russia's iron ore exports fell 1.6 percent year on year to 14.29 million metric tons in the first nine months of 2005. Russia exported 4.69 million metric tons of iron ore concentrate, down 25.7 percent year on year. However, sintering ore exports rose 17 percent to 527'000 metric tons and pellet exports increased 17 percent to 8.29 million tons. During the January-September 2005 period, Russia produced 71.56 million metric tons of iron ore, down 0.9 percent year on year.
