Russia's ferrous metal import volume down 18.1% in Jan-Feb

In the first two months of this year, Russia's ferrous metal import volume decreased by 18.1 percent year on year, according to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat). In particular, Russian imports of steel tubes declined by 39.7 percent, while imports of flat steel decreased by 25 percent, both compared to January-February 2014.

In the January-February period this year, Russia's imports of ferrous metals from CIS countries decreased by 38.6 percent year on year. In particular, Russian imports of steel tubes from CIS countries fell by 47.8 percent, while imports of flat steel decreased by 35.8 percent, both compared to January-February 2014.
