Russia's ferrous metal export volume up 9.8% in January-September

In the first nine months of this year, Russia's ferrous metal export volume increased by 9.8 percent year on year, according to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat). In particular, Russian exports of pig iron rose by 10.1 percent, while exports of flat steel increased by 12.7 percent, both compared to January-September 2013.

In the January-September period this year, Russia's exports of ferrous metals to CIS countries decreased by 6.7 percent year on year. In particular, Russian exports of pig iron declined by 15.7 percent, while exports of flat steel decreased by 10.1 percent, both compared to January-September 2013.
