According to preliminary customs statistics from the country, Russia imported 17 percent more iron ore in the January to May period of 2019 than the same period in 2018. In the 5-month period, the country imported 3.69 million mt compared to 3.16 million mt the previous year. Russia imported 7.3 million mt in 2018.
