Russian scrap production down 12 percent in H1
According to the data released by the coordinating council of the Russian scrap processing industry, the country's scrap production decreased 12 percent year on year to 12.5 million metric tons in the first half of 2006. Out of the total production volume, 7.9 million metric tons of scrap was delivered to the domestic market and 4.6 million metric tons of scrap was dispatched to export. The export deliveries figure indicated that the amounts of export of Russian scrap fell 27 percent year on year in the first six months of 2006.
