During the first six months of 2007, the Russian domestic market increased its consumption of ferroalloys by 13 percent year on year to about 430,000 metric tons.

Since the domestic ferroalloys producers are not able to satisfy the rapidly growing domestic demand, the gap between domestic supply and demand is being filled by import deliveries, the share of which in total consumption increased to about 25 percent for the period in question.
