Russia sees increase in iron ore exports

Russia's iron ore exports rose 5.3 percent year on year to 18.5 million metric tons in the first eleven months of the year. Russia exported 6.06 million metric tons of iron ore concentrate, down 20.8 percent year on year. However, sintering ore exports rose 10.2 percent to 634,000 metric tons and pellet exports increased 26 percent to 10.87 million tons. Russia's iron ore exports to non-CIS member countries reached 15.9 million metric tons, accounting for 85.7 percent of total exports. During the January-November 2005 period, Russia produced 88.4 million metric tons of iron ore, down 0.3 percent year on year.
