Russia issues January-November 2008 output results

According to the data released by the Russian Federation's Federal State Statistics Service, in the first eleven months of 2008 the country registered a 5.5 percent rise in coal mining output and a 0.7 percent decrease in iron ore mining output year on year. The respective figures in metric tons were 298 million and 95 million.

In addition, during the same period Russia produced 30.4 million metric tons of coke - down two percent, 53.4 million metric tons of finished steel products - down 1.7 percent, and 7.3 million metric tons of steel pipes - down 8.6 percent, all compared to January-November 2007.
