Russia increases steel output

Russia's Federal Statistics Service disclosed that the country's finished steel output rose 4.6% year on year to 22.8 million tons in the first five months of 2005. On the other hand, steel pipe production fell 1% to 2.5 million tons. Iron ore output rose 1.6% to 39.9 million tons while coal output increased 2.9% to 121 million tons. However, coke production dropped 2.9% to 10.8 million tons.
