UK-based graphene nanoplatelets-based products producer and supplier Directa Plus has announced that its environmental services subsidiary Setcar has signed a three-year contract with Romanian steel producer Liberty Galati, subsidiary of UK-based steelmaker Liberty Steel Group, to provide a solution for the treatment of the waste from rolling production.

This multi-year contract has a total value of €5.5 million, with the potential for a further expansion up to a total value of €8.0 million, depending on the rolling mills’ monthly production volume.

The Grafysorber® technology will enable Liberty Galati to convert a significant quantity of oily sludge waste into a raw material that can be re-utilised in its steel production process.
