Reliance acquires remaining ownership in Acero Prime

Reliance Steel & Aluminum has acquired the remaining 40 percent ownership interest in Mexico’s Acero Prime. The entity was a JV with a US Steel affiliate. Reliance also purchased US Steel’s interest in Acero Prime Servicios an affiliate of Acero Prime. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

According to its website, Acero Prime processes steel and value-added supply chain solutions for Just in Time (JIT) logistics both domestically and for export. The four Acero Prime plants are in Monterrey, Ramos Arizpe, San Luis Potosi, and Toluca. For the year ended December 31, 2017, Acero Prime’s net sales were $37.6 million.
