It has been reported that the Rostov region administration has made clear its full support for Turkish steel producer Kurum Holding with regard to its steel mill project, KurumStalRostov. However, the administration has had to postpone the tender for land allocation for the plant in order to consider a new proposal for a new plant submitted by Kazakh Caspian Stal Ltd.

It appears that apart from Kürüm, Caspian Stal and also Russian steelmaker Metallurgical Holding are also interested in the land.

Kürüm has informed SteelOrbis that they made the necessary applications for MVK Rostov's approval and for the environment report by Rostov Governorship.
