Chinese steelmaker Qingdao Iron & Steel Group Co. (Qingdao Steel) has announced that it has successfully produced
wire rod with 26 mm diameter, following Baosteel Group and Anshan Steel, thus becoming the third company in
China capable of producing
wire rod of such large diameter.
In trial
production, Qingdao Steel produced 60 mt of
wire rod with 26 mm diameter. The steelmaker's
wire rod production facility, which has an annual output capacity of 800,000 mt, can now produce
wire rod in diameters ranging from 5.5 mm to 26 mm.
