Production recommences at USS’s Great Lakes Works

Pittsburgh based US Steel Corp. (USS) declared that they recommenced production at its second largest steelmaking plant Great Lakes Works on August 18, 2003 which stopped last Thursday due to power outage in seven US states and Ontario, Canada. According to the top executive's statement, on Sunday USS started limited production in Great Lakes Works in coking, cold rolling and finishing facilities and blast furnaces will be back in operation at the beginning of next week. Added to that production is expected to reach its normal levels towards the end of this week.
