A fire broke out Thursday at Gerdau Long Steel North America’s plant in Midlothian, Texas. Authorities reported that large piles of scrapped tire wire were fueling the blaze.

According to the fire chief, the fire started when workers attempted to dispose some hot materials, which was inadvertently flung to the pile of wire about a hundred yards away.

Firefighters contained the flames to an outdoor production area, and no serious damage to the plant or injuries were reported.
