Peruvian iron ore production increases in September

Peruvian iron ore production in September rose 26.5 percent, year-on-year, according to data released by the nation’s ministry of mines and energy (Minem).

According to government data, local iron ore production in September was 908,393 mt, up from 717,837 mt in September 2017, but 7.45 percent down, month-on-month, from 981,568 mt in August this year.

Peruvian iron ore production in the accumulated period of January to September reached 7.60 million mt, 12.2 percent up, year-on-year, from 6.77 million in January-September 2017.

Shougang Hierro Peru is the nation’s largest iron ore producer, accounting for 871,735 mt out of a total of 908,393 mt for the commodity produced in September this year.
