Peruvian iron ore production in July dropped 8.1 percent, year-on-year, according to data released by the country’s mines and mining ministry, Minem.
Peru’s two only iron ore producers include Shougang Hierro Peru, which accounts for most of the commodity’s output, and Minera Shouxin Peru SA.
Minem said Peruvian iron ore production in July this year was 687,600 mt, out of which Shougang Hierro Peru produced 653,612 mt.
July’s volume was down from 748,307 mt in July 2017, out of which Shougang Hierro Peru produced 732,962 mt.
As for the accumulated period from January to July this year, Peruvian iron ore production reached 5.7 million mt, 7.2 percent up, year-on-year.
