Peru’s iron ore output up 9.6 percent in January-August

Iron ore production in Peru was up by 5.1 percent year on year in August this year, according to data issued by the country’s mines and energy ministry.

Peru produced 727,842 mt of the commodity in August, up from 692,500 mt in the same month of 2016.

In the first eight months of this year, Peruvian iron ore output totaled 6.06 million mt, increasing by 9.6 percent year on year.
