Peru to build 920 km gas pipeline

The Peruvian gas supplier, Transportadora de Gas del Peru, announced the construction of a gas pipeline with 920 km in length, destined to supply natural gas to the south of the country, serving industries and residences in the regions of Arequipa, Moquegua, Cusco and Puno.

Project costs are estimated at $2 billion, with the pipes manufactured with API 5L X70 grade steel.

Most of the length of the pipeline will have a diameter of 24 inches, but some stretches will have diameters of 18, 14, and 12 inches.

The total utilization of steel plates, with thickness estimated 16 millimeters, is expected to reach 200,000 mt.
