Pangang Group commissions coke oven No. 2 at Xichang

Sichuan Province-based Chinese steelmaker Pangang Group has announced that it has commissioned coke oven No. 2 in phase one of its Xichang coking project. Construction work was carried out by China Fifth Metallurgical Group Corporation, a subsidiary of state-owned enterprise China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC).

Phase one of the Xichang project includes the construction of two coking ovens, with coke oven No. 1 having been commissioned on October 17, 2011. The commissioning of coke oven No. 2 marks the completion of phase one of the Xichang coking plant of Pangang Group Steel and Vanadium Co.
