Finnish stainless steel producer Outokumpu has announced that the stevedores' strike in Finland ended today, March 19, and that stevedores at Röyttä harbour in Tornio will return to their workplace on Monday, March 22.

During the strike Outokumpu managed to secure all customer deliveries and raw material supply for the production of ferrochrome and stainless steel by using sub-contractors to load and unload the ships. Consequently, the financial impact of the strike was marginal.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, on March 8 Outokumpu had announced that the strike in Röyttä harbor in Tornio had started to impact its operations. The company had initially been expecting production stoppages, causing a loss of €1 million per day.
