Toronto-listed miner Northland Resources has announced that its first iron ore shipment left the Port of Narvik, Stockholm, Sweden on February 25.
Northland's first shipment of approximately 55,000 mt of high grade iron ore concentrate will be delivered to Tata Steel's Ijmuiden pellet plant in the Netherlands on March 1, 2013.
As SteelOrbis previously reported, Northland stated that the first shipment to Tata will be followed by regular shipments to customers in Europe, the Middle East and the Far East. Total shipments during the current year are expected to amount to 1.5 million mt, increasing to a rate of about four million mt per year, or 350 000 mt per month, by the third quarter of 2014.
