North American Stainless (NAS) and Outokumpu, the two largest US stainless mills, announced increases on stainless flat-rolled product base prices effective for November 1 shipments. Both producers had previously increased prices for September shipments.

Prices for continuous mill plate (CMP) at 3/16-inch thickness and greater will increase by $40 per ton (2 cents per pound) while CMP of less than 3/16-inch thickness will increase by $80 per ton (4 cents per pound). Cold Rolled 300 series, 200 series, and 400 series price increase will be achieved by reducing the functional discount 2 points.

The price increases are attributed to further rising manufacturing and operational costs.
