NMDC posts 12.3 percent increase in iron ore output in Apr-Feb

India's state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has announced that during the first 11 months ended February 28 of the financial year 2013-14 its iron ore output amounted to 26.42 million mt, up 12.3 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. In the first 11 months of the current financial year, the company's iron ore output from its Karnataka mines increased by 15.6 percent to 8.42 million mt, while the iron ore output from its Chhattisgarh mines stood at 18 million mt, up 10.8 percent, both year on year.
 
During the April-February period, NMDC's iron ore shipments increased by 17.1 percent year on year to 27.43 million mt.
