Russian steelmaker NLMK Group has announced that its flagship site NLMK Lipetsk has started selling S500MC and S550MC grade high-strength hot rolled coil (HRC) used in the manufacture of certain trucks and cranes along with other special purpose machinery to the Russian market.
S500MC and S550MC steel grades are used in heavy-duty structures and components, which are 40 percent stronger than general-purpose hot rolled products.
The company produces these high-strength steel sheets with a thickness of 4 mm to 8 mm and up to 1,500 mm wide and 12 meters long.
NLMK Group also plans to start pilot deliveries of S600MC steel grade before the end of this year, as part of its high-strength hot rolled steel development program.
