The Russian steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) has issued the third quarter 2007 production results for itself and its subsidiaries.
Accordingly, in Q3 2007 NLMK produced 2.23 million metric tons of pig iron - down 0.6 percent, 2.23 million metric tons of crude steel - up 0.6 percent, 868,000 metric tons of slabs - up 2.1 percent, 484,000 metric tons of hot rolled products (including HRC supplied to VIZ-Stal) - up 18.6 percent, 370,000 metric tons of cold rolled products - down 20.1 percent, 123,000 metric tons of HDG - up 10.5 percent, 98,000 metric tons of pre-painted steel - up seven percent, 98,000 metric tons of non-grain-oriented steel - up 3.7 percent and 30,000 metric tons of grain-oriented steel - down 18.7 percent, all compared to the corresponding period of 2006.
During the period in question, NLMK's Danish subsidiary DanSteel A/S increased its heavy plate production by 17.4 percent year on year to 107,000 metric tons.
VIZ-Stal registered a 4.3 percent increase in its non-grain-oriented steel output and an 80.6 percent increase in its grain-oriented steel output year on year to 47,000 metric tons and to 5,000 metric tons respectively in Q3 2007.
NLMK's iron ore subsidiary Stoilensky GOK showed a 0.3 percent increase in its iron ore concentrate production and a 35.5 percent increase in its sinter ore output year on year in the July-September 2007 period. The respective figures in metric tons were 2.92 million and 469,000.
Finally, during the period in question Altai-koks produced 971,000 metric tons of coke, showing a 20.3 percent year on year increase.
