Nippon Steel to cut steel output by eight percent in Q2 from Q1 levels

In line with lower domestic demand for steel after the devastating earthquake which hit Japan on March 11, Japanese steelmaker Nippon Steel announced on May 16 that it plans to cut its steel production by eight percent in the second quarter of the current year, as compared to the previous quarter.
