New state-of-the-art coil coating facility to open in Georgia this year

First American Resources and Flack Global Metals announced this week the development of a new state-of-the-art coil coating and metal processing facility to meet the growing customer demand for high-end, surface critical coated products. 

The 360,000-square-foot facility, to be located in Athens, Georgia, is specifically designed to perform in flatness/surface critical applications and will address the current market demand within the region for these advanced capabilities. This resource is uniquely positioned to service Appliance, Automotive, Truck and Trailer/Transportation, Architectural, and HVAC manufacturers in the greater Southeastern US.

The new facility will offer coil coating for material up to 62" in width and gauge capability of .009" - .050". It will also include advanced offerings including in-line tension leveling, clean room/clean-surface capability, continuous optical surface monitoring, a high-speed slitting line, embossing, cut-to-length, and sophisticated inspection capabilities.

The facility is designed to handle application-critical market applications in Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Bare and Pre-Painted Carbon (Cold Roll, Galvanized, Galvalume and Zinc) It will be qualified and ready for initial trials in May/June 2018.
