New orders in German construction industry up 6.2% in Q1

As reported by the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in March this year the total price-adjusted value of new orders in the overall German construction industry rose by 5.6 percent year on year, with a 9.2 percent increase in the building construction sector and a 1.9 percent rise in the civil and underground engineering sector, both year on year. In the given month, the total turnover in the overall German construction industry amounted to €4.7 billion, indicating an increase of 30.4 percent compared to March 2013.

Meanwhile, in the first quarter this year, the total price-adjusted value of new orders in the overall German construction industry rose by 6.2 percent year on year. During the same period, the total turnover in the overall German construction industry amounted to €11.5 billion, indicating an increase of 25.9 percent compared to the same period of 2013.
