As reported by the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in April this year the total price-adjusted value of new orders in the overall German construction industry rose by 4.5 percent year on year, with a 1.4 percent decrease in the building construction sector and a 10.8 percent rise in the civil and underground engineering sector, both year on year. In the given month, the total turnover in the overall German construction industry amounted to €5.2 billion, indicating an increase of nine percent compared to April 2013.
Meanwhile, in the first four months of this year, the total price-adjusted value of new orders in the overall German construction industry rose by 5.7 percent year on year. During the period in question, the total turnover in the overall German construction industry amounted to €16.7 billion, indicating an increase of 20.1 percent compared to the same period of 2013.
