Shanxi Province-based Chinese company Datong Tengyang Technology Co. has recently commissioned its new ultra-high power graphite electrode mill, with an annual output capacity of 20,000 mt, as reported by local media source Datong Daily.

Investment in the project totaled RMB 400 million ($60.6 million), while it took 60 days to complete equipment installation and hot testing. It is estimated that its annual production value will amount to RMB 1.5 billion ($0.23 billion).

The graphite electrode market has been seeing strong demand, while the shortage of supply has contributed to the high levels of prices.
