Net profit in Chinese industry rises 27.9 percent in Jan-May

According to China's National Bureau of Statistics, in the first five months of the current year the aggregate net profit of Chinese large-scale industrial enterprises (including all state-owned enterprises and non state-owned enterprises with yearly operating revenues above RMB 5 million ($769,000)) reached RMB 1.92 trillion ($295 billion), rising by 27.9 percent compared to the corresponding period of last year.
 
During the given period, the total sales revenue from the principal businesses of the abovementioned enterprises amounted to RMB 31.1 trillion ($4.78 trillion), up 29.4 percent year on year.
 
At the end of May this year, the accounts receivable of these enterprises came to RMB 6.46 trillion ($994 billion), an increase of 22.3 percent compared with the same date in 2010.
