China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has stated that it expects the total crude steel output of China in 2011 to reach approximately 680 million mt.
According to the NDRC, in November 2011 Chinese crude steel output amounted to 49.883 million mt, down 0.6 percent year on year. November was the first month in 2011 in which Chinese crude steel production registered a decrease as compared to the same month of the prior year.
Meanwhile, China's crude steel output in the month in question indicated a month-on-month decline of 8.8 percent, decreasing for the sixth consecutive month on month-on-month basis. In mid-December (Dec. 11-20), the overall average daily crude steel output of China was 1.674 million mt.
