NBS: Local Chinese rebar prices up 1.9 percent in late February

In late February (February 21-28) this year, the average price in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar rose by RMB 79.4/mt ($11.5/mt) or 1.9 percent to RMB 4,198.8/mt ($609/mt), compared to prices in mid-February (February 11-20), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics on March 4. In the given period, the average prices of wire rod, medium plate, hot rolled coil (HRC), seamless steel pipes and angles increased by 1.6 percent, 2.1 percent, 2.0 percent, 0.4 percent and 2.3 percent, all compared to mid-February.
