NBS: Local Chinese rebar prices up 2.1 percent in mid-June

In mid-June (June 11-20) this year, the average price in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar increased by RMB 78/mt ($10.8/mt) or 2.1 percent to RMB 3,742.9/mt ($519/mt), compared to prices in early June (June 1-10), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics on June 24.

In the given period, the average prices of wire rod, hot rolled coil (HRC), medium plate, seamless steel pipes and angles rose by 2.1 percent, 0.8 percent, 1.5 percent, 0.2 percent and 2.3 percent, respectively, all compared to early June.
