NatSteel cannot forecast market without rebar AD duties

NatSteel board had said it was not able to quantify the negative effects of non-extension of the rebar anti-dumping duties, upon the announcement by Singaporean Government on 20 December that; AD duties on rebar imports from Turkey and Malaysia would not be extended after January 21st, 2003. Later the board explained that; the Singaporean steel market is already very competitive, and will be even more competitive once the AD duties are revoked. NatSteel board said; various factors like the rebar demand and sales prices in local and/or other export markets for Turkish and Malaysian producers, steel production capacity changes in these countries, any export subsidy that may exist, freight and/or logistics costs, will play a major role on the market developments. The board added that all of these factors change from time to time. In order to see the related article please click here.
