NAS to increase cold rolled steel prices

According to the statement released by North American Stainless (NAS), the company will increase prices of 300 and 400 series of cold rolled stainless steel effective with shipments as of September 1, 2004. The price increase will be in the form of adjustment in the gauge extras on 36 and 48 inch wide. The extras on 60 inch wide will remain unchanged. Accordingly, the prices will increase approximately by 3%. Prices of automotive grades of stainless steel will be exempted from the increase. No change on raw material surcharge has been announced.
