China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced on September 25 that during last week(September 17-23) average steel prices in China indicated an increase of 1.3 percent compared to the previous week, following a week-on-week increase of 0.5 percent in the previous week (September 10-16).
In particular, in the given week, prices of 80 mm×43 mm×5 mm steel channel, 500 mm×200 mm H-section steel and 12 mm diameter rebar increased by two percent, two percent and 1.8 percent week on week, respectively.
In the week ending September 23, average prices of minerals in China witnessed an increase of 3.7 percent on week-on-week basis. The average prices of iron ore, copper ore and lead ore in China increased by 4.3 percent, 2.5 percent and 1.3 percent respectively in the week in question, all week on week.
