MOC: Average steel price in China moves up slightly

China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that during last week (December 10-16) the average steel price in China increased by 0.1 percent compared to the previous week.
 
In particular, in the given week prices of 12 mm diameter rebar, 3 mm hot rolled sheet and 6.5 mm diameter high-speed wire rod increased by 0.2 percent, 0.2 percent and 0.1 percent week on week.
 
In the week ending December 16, average prices of minerals in China witnessed a rise of 2.8 percent week on week. Furthermore, the average price of tungsten ore, iron ore and copper ore in China increased by 3.6 percent, 3.1 percent and 0.6 percent respectively compared to the previous week.
 
Meanwhile, in the given week average prices of energy in China decreased by 0.1 percent week on week. The average prices of crude oil and raw coal in China saw drops of 0.3 percent and 0.2 percent, while the price of coke remained unchanged, week on week.
