MMZ issues January-October production results

Moldavian Metallurgical Plant (MMZ) has released its production results for the first ten months of 2008.

According to the preliminary data, during the period in question, the mill produced 798,529 mt of crude steel and 737,240 mt of rolled steel products.

In January-October, MMZ delivered 734,648 mt of steel products, including 380,680 mt to CIS countries, and 353,968 mt to non-CIS countries.

Also during the first ten months of 2008, the mill received 886,800 mt of scrap supplies, of which 52,693 mt were received in October. On November 3, MMZ's reserves of metal charge amounted to 102,457 mt.

During the month of October, MMZ successfully completed the overhauls at its electro-steelmaking shop and its bar rolling workshop, which are currently working according to schedule.
