Russian steel mill Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has announced that it has carried out the overhaul of the head part of the continuous pickling line at its flat rolling shop No. 5, which had not been repaired since over five years. All the repair works were executed on schedule.

MMK's continuous pickling line has a capacity of about 2,000 mt of hot rolled coils per shift, and, during conditions of increased production, the stoppage of the line would be considered to be unfeasible.

Due to its reduced production schedule caused by the decrease of demand, MMK has decided to concentrate on the repair of its technological equipment in order to improve the quality of production.
