Russian steel giant Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has announced that its Turkey-based subsidiary MMK Metalurji's finished steel output decreased by 26.2 percent year on year to 664,000 mt in 2013, due to the suspension of production and sales of most hot rolled flat products since November 2012. The company stated that the capacity utilization of the running facilities increased for the same period.

In 2013, the hot rolled flat product output of MMK Metalurji totaled 60,000 mt, declining by 80.2 percent, while its galvanized steel production amounted to 294,000 mt, up 7.2 percent, both compared to the previous year. The steelmaker's color coated steel production in 2013 decreased by 4.3 percent year on year to 311,000 mt.
