MMK achieves record pig iron output in 2014

Russian steel producer Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has announced that it produced a record 10.28 million mt of pig iron in 2014.

The previous record was set 23 years ago, in 1991, when the mill operated 10 blast furnaces. However, the new 2014 record was set using the eight blast furnaces currently in operation at the mill.
