Mittal Steel plans investment in its Mexico plant

Sources report that the world's largest steel producer, Mittal Steel, plans to invest $235 million in its Mexico plant, Lazaro Cardenas, over the next three years in an effort to increase the energy efficiency of the plant and to expand its product range. Lazaro Cardenas, which has an annual slab production capacity of 3.8 million tons, is Mexico's largest steel producer and slab exporter.
