Mittal Steel Kriviy Rih raises production in Jan-Aug
Ukrainian steelmaker Mittal Steel Kriviy Rih rose the production of pig iron 10.7 percent, that of crude steel 8.8 percent, that of finished steel products 14.1 percent and that of agglomerate 14.5 percent year on year to 4.5 million metric tons, to 4.9 million metric tons, to 4.5 million metric tons and to 7.5 million metric tons respectively in January-August of 2006. In August of 2006, the plant produced 532,000 metric tons of pig iron, up 12 percent, 598,000 metric tons of crude steel, up 15.3 percent, 559,000 metric tons of finished steel products, up 9.8 percent, and 841,000 metric tons of agglomerate, up 13.7 percent compared to July of 2006.
