Mexico’s AHMSA performs blast furnace maintenance

Mexican integrated steelmaker Altos Hornos de Mexico (AHMSA) has commenced maintenance at its No. 5 and No. 6 blast furnaces and other equipment, a media report from La Prensa de Monclova said late this week.

The maintenance also covers the company’s BOF 2 and continuous casting equipment.

The repairs will take 15 days and will employ 1,600 third party workers at AHMSA’s different areas, including No. 5 power plant, BOF 2, continuous casting, No. 5 and No. 6 blast furnaces, among other departments.
