Apparent consumption of hot rolled coils (HRC) in Mexico decreased 6.7 percent, year-over-year, in February to 305,000 metric tons (mt), while production decreased 15.8 percent to 223,000 mt, according to data from the Mexican Chamber of the Iron and Steel Industry (Canacero) reviewed by SteelOrbis.
In contrast, the HRC trade flow decreased 39.0 percent to 114,000 mt. Exports decreased 74.6 percent to 16,000 mt and imports decreased 21.0 percent to 98,000 mt.
