The iron ore subsidiaries of the Ukrainian mining and steel producing company Metinvest Holding (Metinvest) have issued their production results for the first quarter of 2010.
Accordingly, in Q1 2010, Metinvest's iron ore subsidiary Central GOK (CGOK) increased its concentrate output by 43.6 percent to 1.423 million mt, but saw a 7.7 percent drop in its pellets production to 535,800 mt, both compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, in March this year, CGOK produced 522,000 mt of concentrate - up 30.5 percent, and 145,500 mt of pellets - down 21 percent, both compared to February.
During the first three months of this year, Severniy GOK (SevGOK) produced 3.576 million mt of concentrate - up 20.2 percent year on year, and 2.568 million mt of pellets - up 28.4 percent year on year. In March this year, SevGOK saw a 21.45 percent increase in its concentrate production and an 8.8 percent growth in its pellets output, both compared to February, to 1.272 million mt and 872,500 mt respectively.
Meanwhile, in January-March this year, Metinvest's Inguletskiy GOK (InGOK) registered a 50.1 percent increase year on year in its concentrate production to 3.665 million mt. In March, InGOK produced 1.251 million mt of concentrate - up nine percent month on month.
